“Being a peacemaker is a basic calling of Christians”
8 May 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe. There are very different perspectives on the end of the war and the topic “Peace in Europe” in different countries, generations and groups. In 2020, the European Evangelical Alliance therefore highlights different voices from different corners of Europe on this topic with the aim of approaching the subject of peace in all its complexity and its partly contradictory nature. Since the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War has a lot to do with Germany, we start this series with a German perspective. Dr. Reinhardt Schink, the General Secretary of the German Evangelical Alliance, answered a few questions on the topic in a conversation.
